Concept

The topic behind this animation was “Body Image on Social Media”. Dr. Edward de Bono’s “Six Hat Thinking Technique” was used to research and brainstorm the above topic gain a comprehensive collection of viewpoints and effectively explore the above concept. This animation is a compilation of six different clips for each hat in the “Six Thinking Hats Technique”, which explores the respective area behind each hat.
Concept:
The characters in my concept are based on two types of personas: Geometric-shaped characters and Organic-shaped characters.
In a world where social media regards geometric-shaped characters to be considered the ideal standard of beauty and admiration, the organic-shaped characters are left feeling isolated, insecure, and uncomfortable in their skin. In a society that idolizes straight lines, sharp angles, and flawless symmetry, they struggle to fit in with their curves, irregularities, and unpredictable forms.
They are made to believe that they need to mold themselves according to these standards and are pressured to hide their true natural shapes, denying their unique beauty and authenticity.
The animation mostly focuses on the point of view of the organic-shaped characters
